Framing Cameras & ultra high speed cameras
Specialised Imaging Limited is a dynamic company focusing on the design, manufacture, service and supply of ultra-high-speed imaging systems such as framing camera. Highly accurate timing and fully flexible intensified CCD sensors provide almost infinite control over interframe time, gain and exposure to capture even the most difficult ultra-fast phenomena.
Comprehensive triggering adjustment and a wide range of output signals are controlled using the custom software package which also includes measurement and image enhancement functions.
SIMX
High resolution multi channel framing camera, up to 16 high resolution images without creating shading or parallax, up to 1 billion frames per second.
SIMD
Duplex multi channel framing camera, up to 32 images without creating shading or parallax. Up to 1 billion frames per second.
SIM-ES
SIM-ES offers twice the light transmission compared with standard SIM cameras. Each of the 4 channels provides high resolution images through a standard filter holder making the SIM-ES ideal for multi-spectral or colour imaging.
Kirana
KIRANA is a true ultra high-speed video camera that combines the flexibility of a video camera with the speed/resolutions approaching those only available with Framing cameras.
The unique custom design sensor offers 180 images at capture speeds up to 7 Million Images/second at full resolution.
SIR3: Still Camera
The SIR3 series of cameras are compact, lightweight and robust, making them ideally suited for the harsh indoor and outdoor environments associated with proofing ground and industrial use.
T-CAM: CCD Camera
Permits high resolution imaging of ultra fast events in either ambient or low light environments coupled with instantaneous access to the data to provide an invaluable tool to engineers studying aerodynamics and flow mechanics.
Tracker 2
Tracker2 is the next generation of projectile tracking platforms for high-speed video and measurement. Full motorised remote control of three axis rotation and multiple inputs for real-time velocity adjustment contribute to the evolution of this award-winning system.
Hyperspectral Imaging
Hyperspectral imaging is a technique combining spectroscopy and imaging, where each image is acquired at a narrow band of the electromagnetic spectrum. As an example, the human eye sees light in three bands (red, green and blue) of the visible spectrum while hyperspectral imaging divides the spectrum in more bands, typically covering the visible and near-infrared range.
The pairing of spectroscopy and imaging allows user to collect complex spectral information and then exploit that data to solve challenges in remote sensing, advanced machine vision, medical-biotech, and defense.
We offer spectral instruments for differentiated solutions for the remote sensing, advanced machine vision, medical/biotech, and defense/security markets
Hyperspectral Imaging & Sensor
HYPERSPEC® family of hyperspectral sensors and imaging systems are small, light, and rugged. The elegant all-concentric design uses precisely engineered master-quality holographic diffraction gratings made in our world-class cleanroom facilities to deliver outstanding signal-to-noise and spectral and spatial resolution, and a wide, aberration-corrected field of view. Our sensors operate across the 250 to 2500 nm wavelength range with the MWIR available upon request.
Integrated Airborne Systems
A key to success is having the right tools. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) have evolved into the go-to platform for many remote-sensing applications. Headwall’s integrated hyperspectral sensor drones combine our advanced sensors with a choice of GPS/IMU mounted on a high-performance UAV. LiDAR and active stabilizing gimbals are also available for many configurations. Our solutions are fully data-tested, and training is available at our facility or online.
Laser Imaging System and Optical Sensors
As a supplier of innovative (laser) imaging systems and optical sensors LaVision has established a strong reputation as a solution provider among its customers from various industrial and academic research fields.

FlowMaster, Advanced Flow Field Imaging (PIV, PTV, LDV)
LaVision’s FlowMaster PIV systems have been generating valuable insights into flow phenomena in scientific, engineering, biological and medical applications for many years.
Constant technological advances in hardware and implementation of the latest research of algorithms assure the maximum in performance, accuracy and system operability.
Our FlowMaster models are application oriented, meeting a wide range of measurement requirements due to their modular and flexible system design.
FluidMaster, Scalar Flow Imaging (LIF, Rayleigh, BOS)
LaVision’s FluidMaster laser imaging systems measure scalar flow properties such as concentration, mixture fraction, fluid composition and temperature in various fluid dynamical applications.
FlameMaster, Imaging in Flames
LaVision‘s FlameMaster system family is designed to find new concepts for the realization of more efficient and cleaner combustion devices. These (laser) imaging systems are designed for multi-parameter measurements in all kind of flames with high spatial and temporal resolution.
EngineMaster, Engine Diagnostics
Optical diagnostic technologies such as laser imaging and fiber sensors for many research laboratories of the automotive industry.
ParticleMaster (Shadowgraphy, IMI)
LaVision’s ParticleMaster imaging systems measure simultaneously size, shape and velocity of individual particles, droplets or bubbles dispersed in gas, liquid or multiphase flows. High-magnification shadow imaging with eye-safe LEDs or ultra-short laser pulses is applied giving confidence in the measurement method, as you can directly see the results of the particle imaging process.
SprayMaster, Imaging in Sprays
LaVision’s SprayMaster imaging systems provide information on all relevant spray parameters in even the most complex spray application: complete geometrical spray characterization, liquid (vapor) mass and global droplet size distributions on laser light sheets, multiphase flow fields, mass flux, spray evaporation and propagation.
SprayMaster systems are easy to operate, fast and efficient measurement tools suitable for R&D as well as quality control applications.
StrainMaster (DIC, DVC)
StrainMaster from LaVision is a state-of-the-art, non-intrusive optical tool for shape, strain and deformation analysis of solid and granular subjects. StrainMaster combines the most advanced digital image correlation (DIC) algorithms with the highest quality of hardware to provide a complete and easy to use instrument for materials analysis.
LaVision’s state-of-the-art digital volume correlation (DVC) software brings new depth to quantitative imaging analysis. DVC is not only capable of identifying defects and cracks before they are visible in the raw image, but is also able to quantify the full volume strain distribution and actual magnitudes of the material displacements surrounding discontinuities.
